Welcome to Alpine Crest

Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year. Alpine Crest is a great place to be this school year. We have a long heritage of Tiger Pride. We demonstrate that pride by being respectful, responsible, caring and ready to learn. Alpine Crest is a CEP school so all students may eat a free breakfast and a free lunch.

Third through fifth graders enjoy one-to-one chrome book use for research, projects, and writing assignments. K-2 students use iPads and Chromebooks. Alpine Crest has an extensive Outdoor Classroom which includes trails, native plants, gardening plots, birdhouses, a butterfly garden, and base camps with theater seating, table areas, and rustic ground seating for more authentic outdoor adventures. There is also creek access for learning about aquatic life. A dedicated group of Master Gardeners have worked diligently to develop and prepare the Outdoor Classroom for learning. The group puts in many hours to support this area and to continually add to it in order to expand students’ opportunities for outdoor leaning.

Students in second and third grades have the opportunity to participate in violin lessons. Violins are provided through this grant program with weekly lessons at no cost. Fourth and Fifth Grade students may join the Alpine Crest Chorus. Our Chorus group has participated in Caroling at the Courthouse the past two Christmases. This group performs at a variety of school and community functions. Third, Fourth, and Fifth graders participate in County Cross Country and Spring Track Meets. We have a strong and active Safety Patrol comprised of Fifth Graders who provide support for younger students as they load their buses and in the cafeteria during our morning breakfast.

PTA provides an active and strong support for parents, students, and teachers. There are numerous activities planned throughout the year including Kindergarten Kick-Off, Fall Festival, Muffins for Mom, Donuts for Dads, Father-Daughter Dance, Mother-Son Game Night, and more. Parents are welcomed at Alpine Crest and encouraged to be involved in their child’s education.

Alpine Crest teachers are dedicated professionals who work collaboratively to ensure all students become productive citizens and successful lifelong learners.
